Position Overview

The ASME Plasma/Roll Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining plasma cutting and roll forming equipment to fabricate metal parts and components according to ASME standards. This role involves setting up machines, selecting materials, and ensuring that finished products meet quality and safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate plasma cutting and roll forming machines to cut and shape metal parts.
  • Material Selection: Select appropriate raw materials based on job specifications and ASME standards.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, adjusting as necessary.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, including material usage and machine settings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience operating plasma cutting and roll forming machines, preferably in an ASME-regulated environment.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of ASME standards and regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Willing and able to work outside in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
  • Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Willing to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, fumes, oils and where noise levels can be high.
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds and handle physical workload.
  • Must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders
  • Position requires standing or walking all the workday. Frequently involves stooping and kneeling.
  • Must possess sufficient visual acuity and depth perception to accomplish job tasks. 
  • Must possess manual dexterity such as reaching, handling, fingering, and touching to effectively handle material and operate welding equipment.            
  • Must be able to work overtime as required. 
  • Must not present a risk of injury to self or others while engaged in Company duties.
