Y strainers, named for their “Y” shape, help prevent the mixing of any solids, pipe scale, rust, or debris with any liquid, gas, or steam flowing in a pipeline. American Wheatley offers a wide assortment of Y Strainers and Baskets, including Basket Strainers, Cast Iron Flanged, Fabricated Basket, Y-Type, Cast Iron Flanged, Y-Type CI & Bronze Threaded, Y-Type Stainless Steel Threaded, Fabricated Y-Type, and Fabricated T-Type. Our strainer materials consist of perforated stainless steel, which offers good corrosion and abrasion resistance as well as weldability and formability. Stainless steel strainers are often used in chemical and food-processing equipment.
